Very tightly wound and well-marked by new oak, this steely red is one of the most backward wines of the vintage. Cherry, currant and leafy tobacco flavors abound, while vivid acidity drives the lengthy finish, where the fruit is the lasting impression on the aftertaste. But this still needs about five years to come together. Best from 2027 through 2047. 20 cases imported.
