The 2020 Ried Gaisberg Zöbing 1ÖTW Kamptal Riesling is pure, lean and fresh on the nose that reveals a crystalline terroir note intertwined with yeasty notes from the sur lie aging yet also a rather ascetic nature, especially compared with the peers from Allram and Eichinger. On the palate, this is a lean and finely juicy, intense and elegant Gaisberg with a sweetish richness combined with finesse and this crystalline acidity created by the crystalline terroir of gneiss and schist. The finish is grippy and finely bitter and indicates very good aging potential. Tasted in Grafenegg, September 2021.
