The 2020 Volnay Village unwinds in the glass, shedding light reduction to reveal aromas of berry fruit mingled with orange rind and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, lively and perfumed, with powdery tannins and an elegant, fine-boned profile, it's a promising addition to the range.

The 2020 Volnay Village comes from two lieux-dits: Es Echards and Es Blanche. It has quite an outgoing nose with a mixture of blueberry and raspberry fruit, touches of orange pith emerging with time. The palate is quite structured and Pommard-like, maybe a little more structured than expected with just a touch of spice on the finish. Fine.
